GRiEG decides to take action on aviation

The Green Research in Education Group (GRiEG) met Tuesday November 2nd to discuss a draft paper (watch this space for the finished version) on the effects of aviation on the climate crisis, and to formulate plans for actions in the University of Manchester Institute of Education (MIE), and university wide.

Student And Employer Demand For Sustainability

The National Union of Students and the Higher Education Academy have been producing an annual survey on student and employer attitudes towards, and skills for, sustainable development. I have enclosed links to the 5th annual survey executive summary. This year there is also  a separate employers survey as well, which, according to the HEA,  further supports the case for ESD. Ways Of Surfacing Existing Links Between Teaching And Sustainability

The CoP meeting on the  22nd April  was led by Jimmy Brannigan from NetPositiveFutures. In it we discussed ways of exploring links between what we currently do in our teaching and socio-environmental sustainability. The meeting was  geared particularly towards those disciplines that  have no obvious link to sustainability.   Read more
